Why 'Yellowstone' Star Q'orianka Kilcher Is Being Charged With Fraud
Q'orianka Kilcher, the star of Yellowstone, is currently facing legal issues after being charged with workers' compensation fraud.
Kilcher, who most recently appeared in
The Alienist as Mary Palmer,
was charged with fraud on May 27, 2022.
After pleading not guilty to the charges, she is scheduled to appear in court on August 7, 2022.
Kilcher was awarded $96,838 in benefits between October 2019 and September 2021, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court records.
because of neck and shoulder injuries sustained while filming Dora and the Lost City of Gold in 2019.
Kilcher claimed she couldn't work because of her injuries and had turned down several jobs as a result.
She had, however, begun filming scenes for Yellowstone between July and October 2019, during the time she was receiving benefits.
According to the Department of Insurance, "she returned to the doctor and began receiving disability benefits five days after last working on the show."
Kilcher most recently appeared as Niki in Channing Tatum's directorial debut Dog.
Yellowstone Season 5 will premiere on November 13, 2022.
