Emilia Clarke Says She Is "Missing" Parts Of Brain After Surviving Aneurysms
Game Of Thrones
star Emilia Clarke has discussed how there is “quite a bit” of her brain missing after suffering two aneurysms.
Clarke spoke out about the aneurysms in 2019, the first of which she suffered after finishing filming on the first season of the HBO hit series.
“The amount of my brain that is no longer usable – it’s remarkable that I am able to speak, sometimes articulately
and live my life completely normally with absolutely no repercussions,” she revealed.
"There's quite a bit missing!" Clarke said of the brain scans she has since received. Which makes me laugh every time.
“I am in the really, really, really small minority of people that can survive that.”
Clarke explained in a 2019 essay for the New Yorker that she started getting a bad headache while getting ready to work out.
She had a brain scan in 2013 while working on a Broadway play in New York, and it revealed that the growth on the other side of her brain had doubled in size.
